Graduation is an exciting time. It's both and ending and a beginning. Warm memories of the past and big dreams for the future...
This was the feeling throughout the Y6 Graduation held in the Nogoyá 550 Hall. The graduates were led in by members of the Highland Thistle Pipe Band. They took their places onstage and started to say goodbye to their primary years.
Our Headmaster, Sebastián Rubens y Rojo spoke to the children and invited them to be thankful to all the people who helped them along the way, and to look forward with enthusiasm to the challenges ahead.
The Junior Choir and the Junior Chamber Choir sang two songs. Two students shared their memories of their primary years. The Graduated received prizes and their Y6 Certificates.
Caroline Ayling invited several members of staff who are retiring to come forward and thanked them for their years of service to the school, and its community. We were honoured with the visit of several former staff members, including Mr. Silvio Azzati, who was Headmaster of the Primary School in Olivos for many years.
We all said farewell to Miss Caroline, and celebrated her years as our Headmistress. María Chiara spoke of her role as a visionary leader. The members of the St. Andrew’s Junior Pipe Band, led by Mr. Oscar Llóbenes, played a song specially prepared for her.
To end the ceremony, the Y6 graduates sang “You’re the Voice” accompanied on pipes by the St. Andrew’s Junior Pipe Band.
Everybody had the same feeling as we said farewell to the Olivos Primary building…
“How lucky we are to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”
