They started pretending they were robots and had a lot of fun walking and talking like a robot!!!
They learnt that robots only do what the programmer tells them to do through a special language called “Coding”. The children played in pairs and took turns to be coders and robots, moving around the classroom.
They learnt a new word and difficult word “algorithm” and started exploring what an algorithm is. They were told it is the series of steps needed to complete a task.
They played a couple of “unplugged coding games” online, that made them grasp the notion of coding in a more concrete way.
Before the winter holidays, they got to play with a real robot: The Code a pillar!!!!!
The children were able to program The Code a Pillar to perform various tasks!!!! They really enjoyed it!!!
