Eating the right food can help us stay healthy and fight disease.

The main objective of this Nutrition project is to become aware of the importance of acquiring healthy eating habits to lead a healthy life; and to understand that a balanced diet contains a variety of nutrients, which vary according to the needs and characteristics of each individual. 

To put into practice what we learnt, Mrs. Caro Ponzo came to our Y5 Zoom meetings, to show us how to bake the best cookies ever!  We all spent a busy and entertaining morning, cooking and learning.

Students talked about the different ingredients used, and discussed their nutrients and functions. They read and interpreted food labels, tasted delicious cookies, and above all, had lots of fun!
