Year 5 Punta Chica has been doing an Author Study on Michael Morpurgo.

We read Toro Toro and Born to Run together as a class. The children have also been reading other books by Michael Morpurgo and we have analysed his style (strategies, topics, messages in his stories)

On October 27th we had our Morpurgo Day.  Children chose their favourite character from any of the books they read. They analysed different traits present in the characters and spotted the different moments in the stories where these traits were clearly seen.

"I am Robin Hood from the book Outlaw.  I chose this character because  together with his father they take advantage of living in the woods to bring justice for the  poor.  The king is in war and bad people are in charge of everything and they are mean with the ones who live in the woods.
Something that I have in common with this character is that I always want things to be just for everyone."                                                                                                                                                                                 Félix R.                                                                                                                                                                           Year 5
We really enjoyed becoming Morpurgo Characters for one day!
