During our first assembly, the House Captains, Monitors and Student Council members were announced.

St. Andrew’s encourages pupils to contribute to the school community by taking on roles of responsibility. We particularly encourage our older pupils to support younger children and help them to become confident in our large school.

In Year Six, as part of the additional responsibilities given to the children, are the roles of House Captains and Vice Captains, and Monitors.

Monitors and House Captains and Vice House Captains are expected to set an example to younger children, to embody the school values and to help in various activities throughout the year.

The Primary School Council is a representative group of students who have been elected by their peers to represent their views and raise issues with their teachers and heads in Y4, Y5 and Y6.  The objectives of our Primary School Council are that the pupils feel that the school responds to their needs and views; have the opportunity to let adults know their feelings and opinions about things that affect them; have a say about decisions to play an active role in making their school a better place.

We are proud to have these students take on new responsibilities and hope that they develop life skills through participation.
