Children help teachers to prepare the environment. The classroom is totally empty from distracting objects. Centres are covered with large pieces of cloth, and chairs and tables moved aside. After that teachers present the objects classified in large black boxes that have a picture on the outside that describes what you can find inside. They open the boxes and start building threading, combining objects in different ways while teachers take photos and try not to interfere. When time is over, children are in charge of putting all the material away. Every child gets a box to start collecting objects. They really enjoyed these activities!
Since last week the Morning Bunnies have been exploring a large variety of objects during these moments of Heuristic play. This is a sequence of activities that offers the children the possibility of combining everyday objects in new ways never explored.
